Bonduelle vegetables - it all started with peas

In the beginning there was the pea. Today, Bonduelle produces all kinds of canned vegetables, fresh from the field or now also steam-cooked, single vegetables or combinations such as Leipziger Allerlei. The birth of Bonduelle canning was in 1926 when the brothers Pierre and Benoît Bonduelle in northern France transformed an abandoned barn into a canning factory and produced 90.000 cans of peas.

Bonduelle - a French family business since 1862

The Bonduelle company was born in 1862 in Renescure, a village in northern France. Here Louis-Antoine Bonduelle and Louis Lesaffre-Roussel purchased a farm and land to build a grain distillery, cattle stable and malt house. The first canning factory was built here in 1926. After the Second World War, success came on a large scale; canned vegetable production was a perfect fit for the times. The Bonduelle brand is born. Bonduelle has also been listed on the stock exchange since 1998, but the character of a family business has been preserved over seven generations who inherited it: with long-term visions and meaningful action through a plant-based diet.
