Palmin - pure coconut fat with a long tradition
Palmin is a pure fat that is extracted from coconuts. In the 19th century, Heinrich Schlinck from Mannheim invented a process to develop the cooking fat. It was initially sold as coconut butter, but even then the name butter caused anger among farmers. In 1894, the fat was therefore renamed Palmin. However, coconut fat is not palm fat, and is considered more environmentally friendly and expensive to produce.
