At Bübchen, it all began with a tea in 1947 in North Rhine-Westphalia: Ewald Hermes' newborn son was suffering from flatulence, and the druggist blended a tea from fennel, anise, coriander, caraway, and licorice. It became a best-seller. Then Hermes began producing baby care products, which the druggist developed himself. His products were so successful that the first factory opened shortly thereafter. By the way, "Bübchen" is a diminutive for a little boy.
