"The lighter way to enjoy chocolate" – Maltesers were launched in Great Britain in 1936, initially as "energy balls" for a female target audience. The fact that the malted milk filling is not as high in calories as pure chocolate or candy cream has characterized the slogans ever since. The more sustainable way to enjoy chocolate is also spot on: All of Maltesers' cocoa and sugar are sourced under Fairtrade conditions.
