Nescafé or how overproduction shaped the history of instant coffee

In 1930, the Brazilian coffee farmers' harvest was so abundant that a large portion had to be destroyed. Asked whether coffee could be preserved, the Brazilians turned to Nestlé in Switzerland. At the time, a small company that had made a name for itself in the production of powdered milk. After eight years of research, the first Nescafé was launched in Switzerland.
