Ricola

Ricola - the Swiss throat lozenges with Alpine herbs

Who invented it? In 1930, Emil Richterich founded the confectionery factory Richterich & Compagnie. In addition to making candy, he worked with medicinal herbs, mixed them into the candy and thus invented the Swiss herbal sugar that made Ricola famous. 13 alpine herbs form the basis of the product for coughs, hoarseness and sore throats. Ricola is still a family business today and has more than 60 herbal products in its range.
