In 1920, Clemens Rump and Hubert Flerlage laid the foundations for RUF in difficult times. Inflation and unemployment were prevalent. No one could afford to cook pudding from twelve eggs, butter and sugar. New desserts made from starch powder and aromatic additives such as vanilla were emerging. The two had the right instinct with the production of pudding powder and laid the foundation for the company's success.
