Thomy Wholesale: Mayonnaise, Mustard and Sauces in Bulk

Thomy made its name in the 1930s by selling mustard in an aluminium tube. In 1954 Thomy Delikatess mayonnaise in a tube arrived in Germany, and the brand is still a fixture in German kitchens today. Now part of Nestlé, Thomy covers the full deli-sauce shelf: mayonnaise, remoulade, mustards, ketchup and the ready-to-serve Les Sauces range, led by its classic Hollandaise.

Buying Thomy in Bulk: Brand, Range and Export

From Swiss Mustard to a Nestlé Brand

Thomy started in Switzerland. In 1907 company owner Fritz Thomy Schaad launched the first industrially produced Langenthal mustard, and 1930 is seen as the year the Thomy brand was born. In the 1930s its mustard went on sale in an aluminium tube, which was new for food at the time. According to Nestlé, in 1951 Thomy brought out Europe's first industrially produced mayonnaise. German shoppers got Thomy Delikatess mayonnaise in a tube in 1954, and remoulade and sunflower oil followed in the 1960s. Nestlé bought a majority stake in the parent group in 1971 and took full ownership in 1989.

The Thomy Range at a Glance
